The Security Gateway (SGM / SGW) module is a factory protection feature in FCA group cars, which limits diagnostic queries to read-only, e.g. information about the controller, current parameters or fault codes.
The adapter proves necessary for the FCA group to access 80% of the 2018 models and 100% of the 2019 models.
